Dear colleagues and students,
I am pleased to announce that on Thursday, Oct. 8, UCI's Institute for Innovation will host a grand opening celebration for The Cove, Orange County's new epicenter for entrepreneurship. Faculty, staff and students are cordially invited to attend.
UCI's Institute for Innovation first launched in February 2014 with a mission to accelerate the transfer of technology and groundbreaking discoveries to the marketplace. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of our community by connecting UCI entrepreneurs with corporate partners and investors, enhancing economic activity and introducing life-enhancing discoveries to society. The institute's home, The Cove, is a beautiful, 31,000-square-foot facility in University Research Park that serves as a safe harbor for UCI-born startups to reach their highest potential.
I hope you will attend the grand opening festivities to explore the center; enjoy food and drinks from some of the county's premier vendors; watch UCI startup teams pitch innovative business concepts; view the 100-foot video wall; connect with dozens of investor groups, incubators and support organizations as well as on-campus entrepreneurship resources, including Blackstone LaunchPad and Calit2; and discover all The Cove has to offer. Please be sure to RSVP.
