Cybersecurity Awareness Mandatory Training

Dear colleagues,

Cyberattacks are a growing threat and can put intellectual property and research in jeopardy. Each of us has a responsibility to safeguard the information assets entrusted to us. In support of this, all University of California employees on active payroll status are required to take annual Cyber Security Awareness Training. A substantial number of cyberattacks involve the unintended actions of users of information systems, and this risk can be significantly lowered through an effective training program.

This year, the Office of the President is introducing a refresher course. Employees who took the full 2016 training may satisfy the annual requirement by taking this shorter course, which takes about 35 minutes. For those who have not completed the full course, the updated 2017 program should take about 55 minutes.

In either case, training must be accomplished within six weeks.

This week, you will receive an email from the UC Learning Center with instruction on how to complete the training.
